SOLE: Kayland's mountaineering DNA is also found in the Duke Mid GTX: the sole unit features a significant increase in the EVA midsole and is specifically designed to provide maximum comfort to the foot and absorb any roughness in the terrain. The foot rests directly on the dual-density EVA midsole, which features a soft contact area and a high-density ESS zone just above the tread, designed to optimally absorb any impact and visible through the windows of the Vibram® Duke sole. The tread features traction lug technology, a specific lug pattern for mixed terrain, rocks, gravel, and grass that allows for greater grip on the ground. The toe cap features a climbing zone, ideal for more challenging sections or equipped trails, while the rubber toe cap and the scallop-shaped extension of the sole protect the foot and aid in shock absorption.

UPPER AND LINING: The Duke Mid GTX upper is made of fabric with seamless PU inserts and integrates the Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane with direct lamination. Its unique construction allows for significant weight reduction. The mesh collar is protected by laminated polyurethane and features a rear spoiler that accompanies the movement of the ankle. Impact protection is ensured thanks to Kayland's Overlasting construction, which combines a polyurethane rand that fully protects the toe and an extension of the sole to the toe of the boot for additional impact protection. The lacing is precise and comfortable with straps and two locking hooks to keep the laces in place while walking.
